I'm currently running High Sierra 10.13.6 with no further options for an upgrade.

If you bring up the System Information on your Mac, does it say Mac 17,1 as a Model Identifier and A1419 as Model Number?
Then you should be able to upgrade further:
I see the model identifier is 17,1 but no model number. This is what I see.
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac17,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz
With model 17,1 you will be able to upgrade to the latest release of macOS 12 Monterey, 12.6.7.
I will try. Can I jump from High Sierra to Monterrey or does it have to be done in proper order?
Thanks.
You should be able to. However, before making any upgrade/updatge be sure to have a full and current backup of your drive, a Time Machine backup preferably.
WARNING: be aware that Monterey will require 64 bit apps and any 32 bit apps will not work and will have to be update or replaced with alternatives. To find out which of your apps will not work with Monterey download and run the free GO64 app. It will tell you which apps will and will not run with Monterey (or any system from Catalina or newer).
Thanks!
