Mail app mixing up headers and content

My mail app is mixing up headers and content for my email. This is not restricted to my @iCloud or @me addresses. It's also mixed up a bunch of gmail content.

I open an email that I think is from my travel agent and the content is some promotion for a theatre group.

As as result I have lost a lot of important emails. (deleted things based on header)

I have seen similar problems reported elsewhere but no real solutions.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

Turning the phone off and on seems to fix it. F whoever wrote the replies above about uninstalling all third party aps or rebuilding mailboxes, which is a heinous project. The phone's native mail ap shouldn't screw this up.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN

You can try rebuilding mailboxes

For problem accounts the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account(s) from the Mail.app, then add it back.

Note—

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.5.2
