How do I unblock a sender’s email address in my gmail?

I received a couple of suspicious emails, supposedly from service*@paypal. One was a request for a specific amount of money from a name and email address I’ve never heard of. That was followed by another saying the request had been cancelled, with a number to call with questions. Both looked fake to me. I blocked the sender and reported the emails as scams. Now I am worried that I won’t be able to receive verifications of payments I make using PayPal. I have tried to find a way to unblock the service*@paypal email, but as usual, the instructions I can find give steps that include options that are not showing up whenI try to follow them. How can I get valid notifications from PayPal now?
