Is the mobile device throughput throttled?
On WiFi, my iPhone 12, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPad Air 5 all routinely exhibit less than 120Mbps (usually 40-80Mbps) on average, where my MBPs will see double or even triple those speeds. I've visited the Genius bar with the iPad Air 5. We reset the device to factory, and this brought the speed up to 120Mbps in the store, but I've never seen anything greater than 150Mbps on the device on any WiFi network I've tried. After a little while the throughput began to decrease.
All of the canned WiFi recommended settings Apple has suggested have been attempted, along with other tests and tweaks I've made to my Aruba and Meraki networks, I never see anything greater in speed. In fact, when I visited one office, the 5G service would provide me with 300Mbps+, which I've never seen on these devices on WiFi.
