I am also having this same problem as many other people are as well. The AirPods Pro wont stay connected after closing the case and the “find” feature in find my for the AirPods is just missing. I’ve called Apple support about this problem and they had me send the AirPods in for repair. Apple told me they couldn’t replicate the issue. However I see many people in YouTube comments saying they have the same issue. My phone is updated to iOS 17.3 and I have the latest AirPod firmware. Why is Apple not acknowledging this problem? I also tried resetting the Bluetooth pairing(forgetting the device and reconnecting it) to no avail.

I had the same problem for several months. Reconnecting to Phone didn't help.

The problem went away after cleaning case and airpods with alcohol and cotton swabs.

1. You need to clean 8 points where the magnets are installed. (4 on case and 4 on case cover)

2. You need to clean the contacts inside the case

3. You need to clean the ring that is located at the bottom of each airpod.

Please let people know here if this instruction helped you or not. Maybe it's just a luck in my case

Hello modasir114,

If your AirPods aren't staying connected with your device, you can try resetting them with these steps:

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
• If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
• If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*
7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

When I sent the AirPods to Apple they sent them back to me and said they couldn’t replicate the issue(which is probably bs) so I returned the AirPods to BestBuy for another pair, the new pair stayed connected while the case was closed but that stopped after the firmware updated to the latest. Also the find my feature still didn’t/doesn’t work in the new pair.

I was having the same issue. Noticed it when I wanted to keep them connected so they would update. Because I also have a mac nearby I changed the Bluetooth to only connect after it was connected to the device. I tried the reset method mentioned by Jay_8 and they definitely stay connected longer but eventually go to sleep so the software never really updates.
