Optical stabilization on iPhone SE second gen.

Hy, first of all sorry for my English because is not my mother language, that said, I have a problem with my iPhone SE second generation, the optical stabilizer of the rear camera is broken and when I try to take a photo the camera shaking and blurring the whole scene. Now, i don't want to repair this iPhone because in a few month I think I will buy a new one, my question is if there is a way to torn off the optical stabilization, because I notice that if I put iPhone in "slo-mo" mode the camera is perfect, so I assume that in this modality iPhone turn off optical stabilization, there is any app, even pay, that allow to turn off stabilization even in photo mode? Thank you for your advice, have a good day :)

Hi,

Thank you for your input. While I understand your suggestion to avoid using Slo-Mo, it's important to consider that the original poster found Slo-Mo to be a temporary solution that works for their situation. Here's why:

  1. Immediate Practicality: The original poster noticed that Slo-Mo mode mitigates the shaking issue. In the absence of a direct method to turn off OIS, using Slo-Mo mode provides an immediate, practical workaround.
  2. Extracting Still Frames: If high-quality photos are needed, it's possible to extract still frames from Slo-Mo videos. This can serve as a useful interim solution until they get a new iPhone.
  3. Temporary Solutions: Given that the poster plans to replace their iPhone soon, practical and quick fixes like using Slo-Mo mode can help manage the issue without investing in repairs or additional equipment.

While it's not a perfect solution, using Slo-Mo mode addresses the specific issue they’re facing with the broken OIS. It’s about finding a balance between what’s ideal and what’s feasible in their current situation.

Try to give more practical advise that proposes practical solutions to the specific concerns of post authors rather than hope crushing statements that do nothing to respond to the authors questions But, nonetheless your participation is appreciated.

Best regards,

Knanaya
