Texts showing up on two iPhones

My phone and another phone on the Apple ID will have each others messages loaded into our phones. We’ve tried disconnecting my iMessages from the Apple ID and signing into a different Apple ID and my phone continually signs in to the old Apple ID. There are no additional numbers in the send and receive list. Any help would be appreciated

iPhone 14, iOS 16

You need to stop sharing an ID entirely.

One of you needs to create a new ID that is all their own, then do this: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

After following that process, set up the device with the new ID.
