Apple Mail app, can't connect to "ATT" account. Type in password, Unable to verify name or password. Verified correct name, changed password multiple times, still same error message.

Tried changing password. ATT support says it is an Apple mail app issue. Apple Support pages show I have done the proper steps to resolve and it is an att.net issue.

I would suggest deleting the email account you've attempted to create in Apple Mail, then add it back, following Apple's guidelines: Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support. You'll want to choose the "Other" type of email account when setting it up.


Prior to doing that, though, you should verify that the email address and password work when logging into ATT's webmail on your web browser. At least then you'll know you're using the correct combination.
