Deleting a file

I am trying to delete a file from my Macbook but whenever I try to I get a message "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)". How do I fix this?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Start in safe mode and attempt to delete the file: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

After deletion restart normally.
