16.6.1 issue with live TV audio on iPhone 14 Pro Max

This problem has been SOLVED, and I hope this will be of use to others who may experience the same issue. My phone was updated overnight. Prior to this I had been watching live TV with no problem, but today, after the update, the audio on all live TV channels via their apps (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5) was overlaid by the sound of rushing water/white noise. There was no problem with the audio on YouTube videos, or on *some* older programs shown on the TV apps. (Our household's older iPhones that hadn't been updated were unaffected.)

SOLUTION: I plugged in the headphones (which I never use) and the sound was fine. It remained fine after the headphones were unplugged.
