I want to copy some pages from 1 pages document to another pages document

In document 1, I select the thumbnails of the desired pages, ctrl-click and hit copy.

In document 2, I select the thumbnail where I want to pages from document 1 to be copied, hit ctrl-click and I have the choices CUT, COPY, DELETE, DUPLICATE. I do not have the choice to paste.

Also from the Edit menu, I do not have the choice to paste.

Can I really not copy pages from 1 document to another? I want to do this to keep the formatting. I am running Pages v13.1 on macOS Monterey v12.6.7. Yes, I know I am out of date, but I have reasons for being so.

There is no thumbnail copy/paste between two regular Pages word processing documents — which you describe.

You can copy/paste Pages page layout thumbnails between two layout style documents.

In your present case, you will need to add a new page to the recipient pages document, select all of the text on a donor document page, copy, and paste that into the blank page on the recipient document.

A page layout document has no body text. You will need to insert text boxes to contain, or flow text content between them.

Thank you. This was very helpful since my instructions were a little vague.

Now another question. I wonder if there is a way to "hide" a page much like I can hide a powerpoint slide (any maybe can do the same in Keynote??). I have just inherited a monthly newsletter for an organization, which consists of many section, not all of which have content each month. I think it would be more productive to be able to turn a section on when I have content and turn it off when I don't rather than having to copy to formatting from an old newsletter each time this situation occurs. Any luck with this?
