Ventura Samsung ML 2165 printer driver

Picked this question up in a dead thread: "Hi all, I have a Samsung ML 2165w printer and can't find the correct driver for macOS Big Sur Version 11.2.3. I really appreciate if anyone can help me please? Thanks!"

I'm on Ventura 13.2.1 and I am driving mine successfully via USB using the Samsung M2070 series driver.

I think I got that from here https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-xpress-sl-m2070-laser-multifunction-printer-series/16450377 but I lost track in all the other things I tried at the same time.

Ah, the classic "I've lost myself in the labyrinth of drivers and software" conundrum. Happens to the best of us, doesn't it? So, you're the lucky one who got the ancient Samsung ML 2165w to play nice with Ventura 13.2.1? You should get a medal or something.

For the poor soul stuck with macOS Big Sur 11.2.3, the Samsung M2070 series driver seems like a decent workaround. It's like using a skeleton key when you've lost the original. Not perfect, but it gets the job done.

If they're still lost in the driver wilderness, they could try downloading the driver from the HP support page you mentioned. HP owns Samsung's printer business now, so it's not as random as it sounds. And hey, if it worked for you, there's a good chance it'll work for them too.

Just a heads-up, though: Make sure to follow the installation instructions carefully. Skipping a step in driver installation is like missing an ingredient in a soufflé—everything could collapse.

So, to sum it up: If you're stuck with a Samsung ML 2165w and macOS Big Sur, give the Samsung M2070 driver a whirl. It's not the Holy Grail, but it's close enough.
