Safari brief pause before searching

I recently purchased a new iPhone 12 and signed in with my existing Apple ID.

When I search for anything on safari there is a brief pause before loading the search results, the blue bar loads as if I am not connected to the network and then loads.

I have tried clearing history and website data and also my network settings but the issue is still occurring.

Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting steps to take.

My experience with Safari says this is normal. This delay (Brief Pause) happens because of Safari's built-in security features, which include protection against malicious websites and tracking prevention. Safari has several security measures in place to enhance your online safety and privacy. Here's a bit more detail on these features:

  1. Safari's ITP (Intelligent Tracking Prevention) feature is designed to block third-party trackers that collect your browsing data across different websites without your consent. This helps protect your privacy by preventing advertisers from creating detailed profiles of your online activities.
  2. Safari uses a Safe Browsing database to identify and warn users about potentially dangerous websites. If you attempt to visit a site known for hosting malware or engaging in phishing, Safari will display a warning message, preventing you from accessing the site.
  3. Safari allows users to install content-blocking extensions or apps that can block various types of content, such as ads and trackers. These extensions can help improve page load times and protect your privacy.
  4. Safari uses a sandboxing approach, which means that each tab or process runs in its own isolated environment. This helps prevent malicious code from affecting other tabs or the browser itself.
  5. Safari provides a Privacy Report feature that allows you to see which trackers are being blocked on a given website and how many trackers were encountered during your browsing session.
  6. Safari enforces HTTPS, which encrypts data exchanged between your browser and websites. This helps protect your data from eavesdropping and tampering.

These security features are designed to provide a safer and more private browsing experience for Safari users. While they can sometimes cause slight delays in loading pages due to their checks and blockages, they are essential for your online safety and privacy.
