"Apple Pages" Captions should not scale with image size

There used to be a setting in Apple Pages to set whether or not photo captions scaled with the image. I don't want my captions to scale with the images. I need them to all be consistent.

How do I achieve this in the latest verison of Apple Pages

Easiest method is likely to place the caption in a text box.

Adjust the scale of the image to your satisfaction, then adjust the width of the text box to match the image, place the text box adjacent to the bottom of the image and group the two objects (image and text box) to enable moving both together.

Resizing the text box while it is detached from the image should not affect the size of the text, but grouping the two together may cause the text to be seen as part of the image, makng it grow or shrink in step with the changes to the image.

Barry

Of course you did not originally mention exporting to EPUB… 🧐. Have you tried exporting with reflow and fixed to see if there is a difference? Depending on the iPad and iPhone models, and differences in their respective operating systems and form factors, there may be different scaling factors involved with a captioned image. Keyword is may. It's late here, so I won't be experimenting tonight.
