Hi,
unfortunately, Apple is not accepting trade in on the iPad 10th generation (right now it’s the 9th generation and older because the 10th is their most recent model) I’d take it to an Apple Store and see if you can return it as it is unopened, the return policy does vary depending on the region, and since it is a US model, they might not be able to take it. I’d go to the Apple Store, and if they won’t take it, just sell it off (or wait for the new iPads to be released and trade it in, but they will become devalued compared to what you paid)
hope this helps!
Apple's trade-in programme does not accept current-models. As such, until your iPad is superseded, trade-in won't be an option. When trade-in does become an option, the potential value will be significantly less than you paid.
As such, selling your unwanted iPad privately will likely be the only way to recover a significant proportion of the purchase cost - which you can put towards the purchase of a different iPad model.
