Downloaded songs don’t play
I have an Apple Music library that dates back 25+ years, consisting of thousands of songs ripped from hundreds of CDs.
Recently, many songs just don’t play — about 1 in 4. They’re greyed out and if they’re up next in a playlist, the app either skips past them or gets stuck and playback stops. If I tap the song specifically, I get the message “This song is not currently available in your country or region” or “This media may be damaged.”
This happens on both iPhone and Mac.
I pay for Apple One so I have unlimited streaming. It would be great if I could just keep the playlists but just stream the songs instead of trying to play the downloads. Re-creating all my playlists would be massively inconvenient.
It makes for a very frustrating experience. I’ve been using Spotify more and more and am about to give up on Apple Music, unless there’s a solution for this.
Any suggestions are welcome!
