Weather Channel app crashes immediately after opening

For several days now the app for The Weather Channel crashes immediately upon opening it. I have deleted the app and rebooted 10 times. To no avail. I downloaded the Apple update yesterday on my phone and my iPad. Is there something in Settings that I need to change?

Troubleshooting Weather Channel App:

A. Disable a VPN: Are you using a VPN? If so, doable it. VPNs change you location (by changing your IP Address). So, too much may be being put on the app.

B. Contact the Developer:

Being you are having issues with the app, contact the Developer. You'll find their Contact Us info in the app

s site fo the App Store.

One thing I habitually do these days with Weather Channel in particular is always remember to close the app when finished using it. This has worked for me, whereas not closing the app led to failure.

after that upgraded iphone to latest ios 16x something. Still crash

removed app (including data) from iphone

reinstalled app

still crashes.

Thanks for sharing this - it does help for a while. Seems that the app tries to do something when opened after not being used for a while that doesn’t always work on wifi. The issue is not slow wifi. Perhaps it is trying to determine location from a cell tower. In such a case, the fix suggested is on itself a confirmation that the app has a bug

I turned off vpn, turned off wifi and turned back on and it still saying check your internet
