Screensaver restarts mac

After a few minutes of being alone, my mac starts the screensaver, then restarts. After restarting, opens all previously open apps.

My problem is, a) reopening apps after a reboot is already disabled, but my computer opens the apps anyway, and...

b) there's a way to stop my mac from restarting on its own?

Hi there chombeaux,

When your Mac turns back on after this happens, are you seeing a message saying that your Mac restarted because of a problem? If so, try these steps: If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support

If this behavior persists, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support directly for further assistance. They're best-equipped to take a closer look at the issue and provide some additional guidance. This link will help you get started: Apple Support

Take care.

Hello chombeaux,

Thanks for that info. The Apple Store checked for hardware issues, and since none were found, this is likely an issue with the software.

First, get a backup: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support

Once your data is safe, try the troubleshooting here: If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support

Thanks.

Greetings!

No, there are no messages at all. The iMac just starts as always, displays the log in screen, I write my pass, and then completes the initial start, re-opening all previously active apps and windows. Even the software does not mention anything about the restart except Adobe Illustrator, which displays a messages that says "you work has been saved as "recovered".

I took my mac to the Apple's store where I purchased it, but they review it and said there's nothing wrong with it.
