Create a master photo album from albums on two macs, ideally with no quality loss

Hi, I hope someone can help. I'm probably overthinking this or making it more complicated than it need be but here is my question/problem.

I have some photos on my mac photos application assigned to an album, let's call that album 'The Dog'. My partner also has some photos in their mac photos application assigned to an album, let's also call that album 'The Dog'.

I'd like to create an album on one of those macs called say 'All of the Dog' which contains all the pictures/movies from both library albums. Ultimately I'd like to be able to share 'All of the Dog' to other family members.

An 'obvious' solution is to use an icloud shared photo library, however my partner's macbook is just out of support coverage for 'Ventura'.

Anyone have any clever ideas?

That is right. Your Partner will not be able to see the photos in a shared iCloud Photos Library.

And if you use Shared Albums to transfer the photos, the resolution of the photos will be reduced to 2048 pixel at the longest edge.

You could save the "All the Dogs" pictures to a shared folder on iCloud Drive. There you can store the photos at the full resolution.
