Printing problem: Ventura 13.5.1 with a Canon MG3600

My Canon MG3600 inkjet printer is only printing double sided (from my MacBook Air M1 running the OS above), which is the opposite of what I want. I can't find how to diagnose the issue.

Can anyone assist?

Many thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.5

I would suggest the following:

    1. Ensure your MacOS is updated. Ventura 13.5.2 is the latest version.
    2. Cycle power on your printer, then try again.
    3. I don't see your printer listed in Apple's list of AirPrint compatible printers here: About AirPrint - Apple Support. Are you printing wirelessly or via USB? It may not be fully AirPrint compatible for printing via WiFi.
    4. Can you provide a screenshot (or photo) showing the Print dialog window where you'd change from single sided to double sided?

Hi there -

The Canon MG3600-series is AirPrint compatible. Are you using AirPrint to communicate with your printer or did you install software from Canon? If you installed software, be sure to delete it from your Mac.

Next, follow these steps:

  1. To begin, reset the printing system: Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem - Apple Support.
  2. Next, restart your Mac: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support.
  3. After restarting, add the printer back to your print list: Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac - Apple Support. After adding it, choose it in System Settings, and be sure the connection kind includes "AirPrint".

When printing, be sure that double-sided is disabled.

Let us know if this helps!
