I'm stuck in diagnostics mode on my iPhone xr. I have reached the point where it says "how can we help you?". I have done as it says online to do a forced restart by pressing both sound buttons and holding down the off button. there I get two choices of pressing exit or shut down. I've tried both but just keep coming back to the same place. what should I do?

I don’t know where you found your forced restart instructions, probably from the internet, which is a prime example of Sturgeon’s Law, except when Theodore Sturgeon said “90% of everything is garbage” he didn’t know about the internet, which is closer to 99%.

Unplug your charger around 20% and wait. Your phone will continuously reboot if we have the same problem; the next time your phone reboots it should display your lock screen.
