Apps linking to incorrect Facebook account

So I’ve been having issues for a few months now of trying to connect apps to my Facebook (like GroupMe or McDonald's) and whenever I did, it would automatically try to login/connect it to my best friends Facebook, who’d logged into Facebook on my phone ONE TIME and I never saved his info!


after scouring the help forums, I FINALLY found the help from a 2019 answer!


he was still logged in via the safari web Browser!!! Which I never use! I use google (i know. Apple iPhone and I use google chrome, don’t hate me)


so if you’re having issues with getting apps to connect to YOUR Facebook after someone else logged into their Facebook one time on your device, check your safari web browser!!!

I had this same issue for 6ish months and it was incredibly frustrating especially because this question was asked many different ways on here by many people and everyone always responded it was a Facebook issue and to contact Facebook… as if you can ever get help from a real person at Facebook lol. I ensured the correct Facebook account I was trying to link to the app was logged in and the incorrect one was logged out, I removed app other profile from my login choices, cleared the cache, and deleted the Facebook and FB messenger app all to no avail. No matter what seemed to do every time I went to connect my Facebook account to any app it always defaulted to the incorrect Facebook account with only that account or cancel as an option and nowhere on the page allowing you to switch accounts. I opened a browser window and searched for Facebook and when the desktop browser page loaded lo and behold the incorrect account was logged on and I guess “remembered” on the browser window. I logged out and logged in to the correct Facebook account then went to the app(s) I had been trying to connect my Facebook to and FINALLY I was prompted to log in/connect the correct Facebook account.
