Disk Error

I use a MacBook Pro M1 2020 model and Anytime i plug in my SanDisk SSD 2TB it fails to mount with the error "Could not mount “disk4s1”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868".

Sometimes it mount successfully and when you try copying files it fails with the error "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “FRONT DESK” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)".

I formatted it and reinstalled the OS but issue still persists.

Try a different drive and compare your results...

If you have the more recent version 2 of the SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD, then you may be affected by a nasty firmware bug which causes the SSD to disappear and even lose its data. Supposedly the issue has been fixed with a firmware update to the SSD which can be found here:

https://support-en.wd.com/app/firmwareupdate

Unfortunately the WD & SanDisk page does not mention the nasty & embarrassing bit about possible data loss. In fact there is speculation that this issue may not be completely resolved even with the updated SSD firmware. WD & SandDisk have been silent on the matter beyond providing the limited information on the firmware update page.

I was getting a similar type of error on my san disk pro ssd 2gb.

I guess you've tried Applications, utilities, disk utility app, First Aid? It didn't work for me.

In the end, I copied all my data to another HDD using Carbon Copy Clone, and then wiped the disk (Erase).

After that I had a blank disk and could copy my files back. I hope this works for you.
