Update Safari on MacOS Sierra

I have owned this computer for 6 years and have never done a Safari update. I can no longer operate my computer effectively. How can I update Safari?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.12

Sorry but you cannot update Safari any further. Safari is part of macOS and only gets updated when macOS gets updated. If you are having problems with websites your only real option is to use a third party browser like Firefox or others that continue to support older version of macOS like Sierra.

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and then on the download link for a higher OS; your computer can be upgraded at least as far as High Sierra. Alternatively, use a different web browser as needed.

Catalina and above won't run 32-bit software; if you choose one of them, use Go64 as well.

If you're using a version of Safari older than 12.1.2, you can also update it from the Mac App Store.
