iPhone brightness and Face ID issue

My iPhone 12 Pro Max just last week started having a brightness issue and a Face ID issue. I was using my phone messaging my wife and all the sudden it just restarted like apple logo and everything. Then when it came back on my brightness was all the way down and could not be adjusted and the Face ID was not working. This was very frustrating because Face ID makes things so much more convenient and with brightness being all the way down there are many times you cannot see your phone screen. After a day or two of hardly being able to use my phone I found that you could go to accessibility settings and toggle the auto brightness logo and it would do a little reset then when it came on you could adjust the brightness again. But if the phone reset for any reason like battery dying or something then you would have to go toggle the auto brightness button again. Then on Saturday I noticed there was a software update 16.6.1 and I thought this might fix my issues so I installed the update. Turns out I was wrong it made things worse. Since the phone reset for the update my brightness was low again so I went to the accessibility settings again to turn auto dimmer on. But the auto dimmer button was removed so I cannot fix my brightness issue anymore and my Face ID still does not work. Very disappointed in this.

Let me know if anyone knows of a fix for this.

    1. Open Control Center. Firmly press the Brightness control icon, then tap to turn Night Shift on or off.
    2. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift. 2 On the same screen, you can schedule a time for Night Shift to turn on automatically and adjust the color temperature.
  3. True Tone: This is another feature that can cause your screen to dim. True Tone automatically adjusts the color and intensity of your screen to match the ambient light levels. This can make your screen appear dimmer when you're watching a video in a dark room. You can disable True Tone in your iPhone's settings.
  4. Night Shift: This is a feature that automatically adjusts the color temperature of your screen to a warmer setting at night. This can make your screen appear dimmer, especially if you're watching a video in a dark room. You can disable Night Shift in your iPhone's settings.
  5. Low Power Mode: This is a feature that can cause your screen to dim to conserve battery life. If your iPhone is in Low Power Mode, it might lower the brightness of your screen. You can disable Low Power Mode in your iPhone's settings.
