The “Recently Deleted” area only applies to text messages. It does not apply to voicemails. In your voicemail delete file it will ask you if you want to permanently delete the voicemail message and that if you do it will not be able to ever be retrieved again. It asks you if you wish to continue with this process? If you select yes your voicemail will be permanently deleted and will not ever be able to be retrieved again by you or supposedly by AT&T. My brother in law works in computer programming and he says that nothing is truly ever deleted. He says that it is always there somewhere in the computer files and that someone who knows what they are looking for can find it. But AT&T must not put a priority on retrieving deleted voicemails; so, we will not be able to have access to those voicemails once we delete them.
It’s not called “Recently Deleted”. I was slightly mistaken there. But the concept is as I described.
“Permanently deleted” and “retrieve” are opposites.
”Permanently deleted” means just that - gone forever.
That’s why AT&T provides a “Recently Deleted” area.
