As you did not state the iPad Pro generation, it may have reached the end of iPadOS support. The following support is provided for iPad Pro:
iPad models compatible with iPadOS 16 - Apple Support
iPad models compatible with iPadOS 15
iPad models compatible with iPadOS 14
If you iPad is supported above, you should have it connected to a charger, a Wi-Fi network, and then Settings : General : Software Update should get you the last compatible version installation notice.
