Features of Apple Watch and App

I am considering switching from Garmin to the Apple Watch 9 when released. Some features I am looking for are being able to track specific exercises (bench press, curls, etc), tracking pounds lifted per exercises week-to-week (not just sets) to track strength progress, logging treadmill incline in addition to speed and distance, music app integration (spotify, SXM, Amazon Music, etc). Does the current watch and software have these features?

My son uses Garmin and it is a big favourite with his cycling friends. He's a big Apple fan but he just upgraded his Garmin Watch. He uses Strava to collect his workouts and so do I because Watch will also interface with Strava very well.

I upgraded from Polar M430 to Watch and the upgrade was huge.

Watch may not do everything Garmin will on sports, eg people complain that VO2max is estimated too low on Watch, but it interfaces really well for all notifications, taking calls, emails etc with your iPhone (which will have to be XR or later for the next round of OS10 watches)

I know there are iPhone apps that will record specific exercises and sync with Health. Whether or not they have Watch apps and will automatically know what exercise you're doing, I couldn't answer. You'd need to research.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "music app integration". Apple Music is well integrated into the Watch. Spotify has an app.
