Apple watch Ultra - Absolutely useless if it gets wet, or muddy, or dusty...

A few friends and I all have Ultras and often do outdoor activities together; these include Tough mudder runs, triathlons, general hiking & climbing, and SUP.

We all have the same problem where the watch just pauses itself constantly if it gets standing water, mud, or any debris on the screen. Considering this is what the Ultra watch is made for, this is very disappointing. Distances and other metrics are never tracked properly as the watch just can't keep itself recording.

Obviously, we have all the automatic pause options turned off, and we have the water lock turned on.

Anyone have a solution for this?
