Why cant i answer security questions to verify my identity, to unlock my apple ID?

Why can't I use my DL and/or answer my security questions to access my account if I forget my apple ID password?

Assuming that you have 2FA enabled - there are no security questions.


Access to your AppleID is via your trusted devices.


An “untrusted” device can be used to sign-in to your AppleID only after obtaining the 6-digit 2FA Verification Code by one of the methods described here:


Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support
