iphone disabled

I was trying to use a very old iphone 5 of my own or my wife's and the screen message is, iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes.


when I googled this message one suggestion was to log into icloud and Enable the phone.


another post hinted that iTunes can help.

A prompt that the iPhone is disabled and to connect to iTunes means the iPhone will need to be restored via a computer. It will remain unusable otherwise.
