When will apple cash come to uk

A bank in the UK would still need to support Apple Cash. It may not be profitable enough for a bank to partner with Apple. It’ll probably be offered in Canada and/or Mexico before the UK, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.

GB and US have different banking regulations and that could be an issue. Also, a local financial institution has to be willing to partner with Apple.

Apple is not a traditional FinTech. Apple Cash in the UK will require a local UK bank to do all the transactions, support etc. For example Apple partners with Green Dot Bank in the US.

In anticipation of Apple possibly introducing Apple Cash in the U.K., banks have already approached the regulatory authority to object. They fear that growth of Fintech is a threat to U.K. banks - which is nonsense. I doubt that U.K. banks will be able to stand in the way of any plans Apple has to eventually introduce Apple Cash to the U.K.

If you check out the complaint British banks made to the regulatory body, they limp Apple Cash in with fintech companies - even though it’s not strictly accurate.

I am waiting for Apple Cash as well. I understand that the banking regulation might be different in the UK but Apple can change some bit according to the UK regulations and get it work in the UK as well. We have PayPal in the UK so, if we have PayPal then Apple can bring their Apple Cash with some little changes????
