after factory reset and set new Apple ID, restore from former/old Apple ID??

We have various business phones to be enrolled into MDM (mobile device management).

They're all set up with people's personal Apple IDs, passwords and passcodes, which is bad from a business POV.

To get the phones enrolled into MDM, they must be factory reset, plus they will have new Apple IDs put into them.

Is it possible to restore the phones' content into the newly reset phone, provided we have the old Apple ID and password and password for the phone??

I should think this would be a normal restore from iCloud procedure??

Hello fuxion47,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are wondering about how to put personal data onto business owned devices. This will depend on exact configuration of the MDM so we recommend reviewing Apple Platform Deployment user guide: Deploy devices using Apple School Manager, Apple Business Manager, or Apple Business Essentials - Apple Support

Thank you for the link, it is a good start.

Unfortunately you don't understand what I need to know.

Here is the situation:

1) Person A has Phone A, configured with an Apple ID, that contains messages etc.

2) We want to enroll Phone A into Verizon mobile device management (MDM), which requires resetting Phone A

3) Assuming we have backed up Phone A before reset, how can we restore things like messages and contacts after Phone A has been enrolled into MDM to continue being used by Person A??

Note: I've been told by Verizon that the phones being newly enrolled into MDM don't have to have an Apple ID, apparently a token would be assigned to Phone A to facilitate its communication and configuration wrt Verizon MDM, which is apparently (so far as I know) reselling Apple Business Manager.

Thank you, Tom

Thank you, Tom
