When I put playlists on my phone, the play order is reversed

No matter what I do, the majority of my playlists are in reverse order on my phone.

I have deleted the files and ripped from the disc afresh. I have done everything suggested at how to reverse playlist order? - Apple Community:

"Songs view:

Right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar and click Copy to Play Order.

Click the heading of the left-most column of numbers. If this is the order you want and the chevron is pointing upwards stop now.

Click the chevron again, if necessary, to make the chevron point down.

Right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar and click Copy to Play Order again.

Click the heading of the left-most column of numbers, to make the chevron point up.

Playlist view:

Right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar and click Copy to Play Order.

Use View > Sort By > Playlist Order, Descending.

Right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar and click Copy to Play Order again.

Use View > Sort By > Playlist Order, Ascending."

Except of course with the songs in album order.

Why is this task so difficult? Shouldn't default when the songs transfer be album order, rather than reverse album order? What's the deal? What am I doing wrong?

Please help!
