MAC Book Pro - Ventura - Finder is not responding since I tried to import pictures from icloud

I recently tried to import my large file of pictures from the cloud to my desktop and since then my finder has been unresponsive. it just hangs and says finder is unresponding. I have force quit, and relaunched. I have backed up my computer and reinstalled my IOS and still the problem continues. HELP. My memory shows finder is using 13G of my 16G. I cannot do anything.

A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt,

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
