iPad markup in files app without closing document

Is there a way to edit a PDF in the file app without the file closing when you select "Done”? I can’t keep it in the markup selection since I then cannot scroll - it just marks it instead of scrolling.

I’m trying to edit my book and it’s getting tedious to have to reopen after every change.

Files app on iPad Pro Hi, For a while now, I’m using my iPad with Magic Keyboard as my main device whenever I’m away from my desk. Overall this experience has been great, except for one thing. When opening PDFs in the files app, it automatically fills the entire screen, and I can’t seem to figure out how to zoom out without closing the entire document. I was wondering if I’m missing something as I would really like to use the files app because I think its great to mark text in. In the meantime, I’ll be using adobe, which does allow me to zoom out.

PDF closes when I try to scroll back up the document with mouse wheel on iPad. When I’m viewing a PDF, I’m able to scroll down the document with the mouse wheel, but I can’t scroll back up towards the start of the document. If I try to scroll back up, it just closes the entire document. I’m able to use my finger to scroll up and down the document. If I’m at the top of the document and I swipe my finger down again, it’ll close the file. So it seems the iPad is registering any attempt to scroll up the document with the mouse wheel, as if it were already at the top and just closes the file. This happens for sure when the PDF is opened through the Files app or when viewing an attachment in the Mail app. I just noticed it also happens in Microsoft Teams when I opened a PDF sent in a chat. It doesn’t matter the length of the PDF either, it could be two page and it still happens. It’s really annoying when I accidentally scroll up and the entire document closes and I have to reopen it and find where I was. It also makes it hard to navigate when using my iPad with an external monitor.

How can I restore full-page scrolling in the Books app after iPadOS 18.5 update? After updating to ipad os 18.5, the number of pages in each book has been significantly reduced - only pages with headings (the first pages of each chapter) remain. How can I turn this off and return normal page-by-page scrolling? Restarting the tablet, reinstalling the "books" app, re-adding the book to the app - nothing helped On the iPhone the same books without changes, everything is fine - there is IOS 18.3.2 [Re-Titled by Moderator]
