How do I force sign out for Apple Apps that use an old Apple ID?

Hi,

In the early days of Apple IDs, I created one that I don't have the password for anymore. Have since created a new AppleID and I have kept better track of that password. This old AppleID was used on devices I no longer have and on Apple apps running on newer devices. As far as I remember, all of these old devices have been destroyed. Some apps on the newer devices use the old Apple ID.

So I need to know is how to find Apple apps among my various newer Apple devices that use that old Apple ID. Then I need sign to them out of Apple's ecosystem without signing into these apps. How do I do that?

Thanks

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

Hey there originalsnaguru,

If you have apps that were downloaded using a previous Apple ID, it would not be possible to find out which apps are being used with the Apple ID unless you were able to sign in with that Apple ID. However, you can determine some apps that may have been downloaded using the previous Apple ID if you go to update a single app, and that app asks for the password for your previous Apple ID. Apps that were downloaded using a previous Apple ID would require that Apple ID account password in order to update.

If you no longer remember the password for your previous Apple ID, learn out to reset the password using the steps shown here: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If unable to reset your Apple ID password, and if you had two-factor authentication enabled, you can request account recovery using the steps in this next link here: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support

We hope that's able to help.

Take care.
