imessage signs me out of my mac after about 10 seconds

If I sign into imessage on my mac it will look like it works for about 10 seconds and then boot me back to the sign in page. I think my account is blocked or something. If so can it be unblocked? And if it was blocked why was it so I can avoid that in the future
