Music on Mac: Stuck on Song

On Mac, songs will regularly get stuck and not play. Within a single album or playlist, some songs will play just fine, but sometimes when it switches to the next song, it won't play. The bar up top below the song title and album name shows the loading animation, but the song never starts playing. Often, I can hit the rewind and fast-forward button and the song will start playing. Today, however, I encountered some songs that won't ever play, no matter what.

One strange quirk I've noticed: downloading songs to my Mac actually causes the issue to happen more often. In fact, it seems to happen with almost every song, with an additional element: I have to hit the play button twice to get a song to play. So, I've removed the downloads so I'm streaming songs from Apple Music, but songs getting stuck is still happening.

I'm running MacOS Monterey 12.6.9 on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021) with the Apple M1 Max and 64 GB of RAM. It's a work computer, so we haven't been cleared to update to Ventura because of some lingering server issues.
