You don't provide any error details but if it says not compatible with Mac you are likely trying to install the incorrect version of Office. Go to the Microsoft Office site and download the correct Mac install version.

I have that same product on my Mac. Have you logged into your Microsoft 365 account? I had to make one (Outlook.com email account), and it worked.

I use Microsoft 365 on my 15 inch MacBook Pro, and 15 inch MacBook Air... today it was not working due to server being down.
