Can anyone explain to me why I got this and what it means? I've also gotten a flashing folder upon boot up too.

That Mac was unable to read at least some of the information on its startup disk. The short answer is that it's a hardware problem that needs to be fixed. Contact Apple Support using this link: Official Apple Support

I agree with @John Galt, Certainly seems like an SSD failure is the most likely cause here since "SATA HDD" here is referring to the SSD. I believe some of the SSDs from the 2013 model were known to have an issue where Apple at one time had a free SSD repair program (now expired).


It appears you have either a MBPro 15" (2012) Retina model, or a MBPro 15" (early 2013) Retina model.


Make sure you have a good backup if you don't already have one since the SSD could fail completely at any time.
