Audio output Auto or Pass Through?

Apple TV 4K (2021) is plugged into an LG C2. I have a Samsung “Dolby Atmos” sound bar (eARC). Should my LG’s digital audio out setting be Auto or Pass Through? Will Pass Through result in improved sound quality?

Apple TV 4K – Audio output question regarding lossless formats Hi everyone, I’m a big fan of the Apple TV 4K and really enjoy using it in my home theater setup. I do have a question regarding audio output: When playing back high-resolution audio (e.g. from Apple Music) or lossless surround formats in certain media apps, it seems like the audio is decoded internally and sent out as LPCM instead of being passed through untouched. This appears to apply even to formats like Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA, when supported by the source material. Is there currently a way to configure the Apple TV to pass audio through “bit-perfect” over HDMI — without internal decoding? Or is LPCM output the only available option? I’d love to hear how others are handling this, especially those using external DACs or AVRs. Any best practices or settings I might have missed? Thanks in advance!

Audio Format Apple TV connected to receiver with a 5.1 setup. Do I leave audio format set to auto or should I set to 5.1 option?

If passthrough gives good sound (i.e. is working), then that would be the best setting.
