iPad - Request Hotkeys without Full Keyboard Access

The Apple Support Community is user-to-user technical forum. Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than the site Moderators, Apple neither monitor nor participate within the Support Community.

While contributors here can help with resolving or working through technical issues, we have absolutely no influence or direct input to Apple's product development.

Apple do invite submission of comments and feature requests via its Product Feedback portal. If you would like to see changes or additions to iPadOS functionality in a future version of iPadOS, this would be the most appropriate channel through which to direct a request to Apple:

I have a similar iPad issue to what JenaS5 asked about.

I'm a professional writer who has long used macros on the Macintosh (via Keyboard Maestro) that let me move my cursor around (or select text) with only the keyboard, not the mouse. Examples:

1) when option-command-j is pressed, the left arrow keystroke is typed.

2) when option-command-l is pressed, the right arrow keystroke is typed.

These keystrokes are now second-nature to me. Typing without them is painfully slow.

I just purchased an iPad with a Magic Keyboard and would very much like to re-create these macros. But there is no program like Keyboard Maestro for iOS, and my understanding is that it's not possible to create one for iPad.

NOTE: I *don't* simply want to create a shortcut that will be replaced with some predetermined piece of text. I want to be able to move my cursor and select text while keeping my left hand on the modifier keys and my right hand on the "home row."

I've tried Full Keyboard Access, but that seems intended for moving through areas of forms, not for moving through a specific text-space.

Does anybody have any possible solutions for my problem?
