Emails missing from sub-folder

I am using Ventura 13.5.2 and Mail 16.0. After upgrading to the latest version of Ventura I noticed that all emails from one of my sub-folders have disappeared. It only impacts one sub-folder and the filter is off. I have carried out searches for some of the emails that I know were in there and I can see replies ok in the sent folder but the original emails have all disappeared. Any ideas on ho to find the missing email, please?

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

you can try rebuilding individual mailbox—

Rebuild mailboxes in Mail on Mac

For problem accounts the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account(s) from the Mail.app, then add it back.
