You can buy a USB A to USB C cable, which will work for CarPlay in your Audi.
Amazon has literally hundreds of these cables.
I bought these for our two cars:

I like how the cable is coiled and extends further than I need it to, but takes up very little space when not being used.
You're welcome. This is the cable I purchased from Amazon, which works great in our Genesis GV70. I really like how the cable is coiled, so doesn't take up much space when not in use, but stretches when needed.

Im assuming they connect their current phone via USB A to lightning. With the iPhone15 they were asking about a USB A to USB C since it has a different connection. Most USB C cables are C to C so they were probably just confused.
I’m glad I ran across this thread. It just dawned on me that I’ll need a USB A to USB C cable to connect to carplay in my wife’s car…
Your iPhone 15 will come with a USB C to C Cable. You will not need the Old Cable.
Does your CarPlay device have a Lightning port? Weird!
If it has a USB A Port get an Adapter, openly available in the market.
Hence why I included a link to a cable which is USB A to USB C.
I bought this in anticipation of my new iPhone 15 Pro Max:

Look at the following link and see if the steps work for you. I haven’t had any issues with my 2022 Buick Enclave or the 2019 Enclave my mom has so I can’t say if the steps will resolve the issue for you but it’s worth a try. https://www.wheelsjoint.com/buick-encore-apple-carplay-not-working-causes-and-how-to-fix-it/
I have a brand new iPhone 15 and a stunning 2019 Civic Si. Though the civic “has” Bluetooth, it does not actually match to any phone I have had, and the Civic demands a lightning connection. The USB C connected through the “power point” charges the batter of the 15, but i am very sorry I didn’t simply have my old phone repaired. I doubt the 2015 BT upgrade would have helped you.
I'm confused by what you use in your car? Most cars have standard USB A connections. Are you using Apple CarPlay or what exactly are you plugging your phone in to your car to do?
I need an adapter that will allow me to plug the AUX cable into the phone. I've been using a Belkin Rockstar adapter for years. Fortunately, they seem to have updated it for USB-C.

Yes, I'll also need a new car charger. I've added your recommendation to my list.
I don't have BlueTooth in my 2013 Honda Fit. If I want to play music through the car speakers, I need to connect the phone to the car stereo using an AUX cable. When I bought the car, that was easy as iPhones had headphone jacks. But, once they didn't, I switched to using the above-linked adapter. It lets me plug in my car charger and the Aux cable so that my phone stays charged and the music stays loud (-ish, I'm old).
I once tried a BT adapter that plugged into the AUX jack. It didn't go well. It had to be charged separately and it never really worked well.

Wow. Maybe a newer car will be in your not too distant future?
I doubt it. Honda stopped selling the Fit in the U.S. last year so it's almost impossible to buy a new car of that size in the U.S. anymore. It's paid off and has less than 50,000 miles on it. Do I wish I'd sprung for the upgrade package with BT all those years ago? Perhaps. But, it's still a great car.
