Exporting Final Cut Pro project

I just finished my first Final Cut Pro project on my Mac. I’m trying to find step-by-step instructions for exporting the project to a thumb drive. I’m not a vert tech savvy old guy!

Here are the steps:

Select the Project and have it in the Timeline.

Click the Share/Export button (square box with arrow out) as shown to reveal the Export options available:

Select Export File

Now configure the SETTINGS as shown:

The ACTION: Save Only is the most important to direct the export to a USB stick.

The Resolution setting can be adjusted to taste/limit of equipment used to playback the export.

Click the NEXT button (bottom right)

This will now show a WHERE field:

You will need to navigate to your specific USB stick, it may be called NoName unless you typed in a name.

Mine is called ALZUSB3

Click Save and wait until finished.

Use Command-9 if you wish to see the Progress Bar or this button:

Be aware of the caveats that Tom mentioned.

I'd suggest making sure the format of the USB stick is ExFat before starting the process.

ExFat works with most modern TVs, phones iPads etc.

Older gear if more specific (read the user manual)
