Some of my apps have the little cloud under them to install again. When I try they say unable to install. I have tried everything I have read to try & nothing has worked. Can you help me please?

Perhaps you have offloaded an older App?


Not all Apps will, necessarily, continue to be available. Apps may have been removed or retired from the App Store by the respective App Developer. Some Apps may have been abandoned - and may been removed by Apple. Where a compatible App is not available, you’ll not be able to reinstall the App.


Otherwise, consider that you may have enabled restrictions that inhibit adding or removing Apps from your device.


  • Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Adding Apps - set to Allow
  • Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Deleting Apps - set to Allow
  • Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > In-app Purchases - set to Allow
