Using a new payment method in a new country

I’ll be spending a considerable bit of time away from my home country, and I’d like to set up that country’s payment methods. However, it’s still showing the methods from my home country. I’ve also updated the device’s location in the Language and Region preferences. How do I make it update so I can use my new country’s payment method?

We can try other methods. Did you update your Apple ID region? You may need to work closely with the bank to get your card added. Some banks won’t permit a card to be added if out of/in other regions. While the card will work outside of Apple Pay.
