Mac Hard Drive Access

This is a thing that I never liked, never wanted, and never needed from apple, and it's just non intuitive, I don't need my hard drive protected as I'm not an idiot and since system 6 haven't messed up my drive or structure. I would like this functionally back or I may as well use windows. Anyone get this back yet? I know there is a way to reverse the idiocy of this mechanic.

This is the new normal as well. This would be the 'Macintosh HD' w/ strong cryptographic protections to store system content .

Your User data is the "Macintosh HD - Data" as seen from the from the Terminal copy and paste:

diskutil list internal

We cannot speak for Apple or why they choose to do things. What I do, and it works well for me, is I have one folder on my desktop (which I labeled Desktop Folder) into which I place all of my working sub folders and files.

Yeah, sure you will.

Or, you can just put your Home folder in the Sidebar and save there. Or, your Documents folder. Or any single folder of your choice. You can save everything you want there.
