I bought Apple Watch Series 8 while I was traveling in Indonesia, but for some reason I cannot pair it with my iPhone 14. My phone says iPhone needs an update but latest update is already installed.

I checked in internet and read that Apple Watch does not have region lock, so I went ahead and bought Apple Watch series 8 in Indonesia. However I cannot pair it with my iPhone 14 which I bought from Turkey.

When I try to pair, Watch app says iPhone needs an update, but latest update already installed.

I tried to restart the phone and watch, hoped it would solve the issue but it did not.

I strongly believe it is somehow regional issue. Because I bought one for my wife as well and her phone does not pair with her watch same as me.

We both have latest iOS, which is higher than 16 so that should not be an issue.

We both have iPhone 14 Plus

Well, we upgraded iOS to 16.6.1, (previously it was 16.1.1 or something like that) and then we were able to pair our watches.

So, if you end up to this post, make sure you update your iOS to the latest version available.
